To get started building a new life, contact the San Luis Obispo County Department of Social Services at 805-781-1600. The Social Services Department partners with the community to meet basic human and health needs for adults, seniors, and children. Social Services can help with matters of immigration, cash aid, food provision, child welfare, medical, housing, adoption/foster care, and adult protection. Each client is assigned a trained, qualified case worker to assess all needs and issue assistance and referrals.
